VOLLEYBALL: Pioneers battle past Tennent in five games
When two teams from different classes meet, the team from the higher class usually holds the advantage. This trend was suspended on Wednesday when Class AA Christopher Dock defeated Class AAA William Tennent in five games 25-23, 22-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-8.
The first three games were played very tight as neither team was able to establish more than a three-point advantage at any point in the three games.
“That’s what we try to simulate in practice, but it’s difficult to have that pressure for those two-point games,” Tennent coach Jim Creighton said. “Good players like playing in those games and that’s when it shows the difference if you can make a play when it matters.”
