BASEBALL: Jenkintown falls to Calvary Christian

Jenkintown was hoping that its District One Class A opening round game against Calvary Christian would go better than last year’s 16-1 beat down. Although the Drakes put up a valiant fight, including staving off the mercy rule, the Cougars’ bats were too potent to handle.

A rough first three innings saw Jenkintown fall out of districts with a 11-3 loss to Calvary Christian. Coming in already the underdog as a seven seed playing the second, the Drakes also had to deal with flame throwing starter Tyler Scheuer, who dominated Jenkintown over the first three frames. That combined with big hits from the Cougars’ lineup doomed the visiting team.
