SOFTBALL: Upper Darby breezes past Souderton
Nikki Canfield and the Souderton softball team did not think their time in the District One Class AAAA playoffs was going to be so short.
But Monday afternoon, the 19th-seeded Indians could only manage five innings of postseason play against Savannah Niernitz and host No. 14 Upper Darby. Souderton collected just a pair of hits off Niernitz, while the Royals posted three run in the first, then plated seven more as they batted around in the third to claim a 10-0 first-round victory.
