VOLLEYBALL: Confident Pennridge sweeps past Haverford

Pennridge is a confident team that has high expectations for itself. That’s why when the Rams won their District One Class AAA opening round match in straight sets, it was just a matter of taking care of business.

The Rams won the first two games big and took the third comfortably in their first round win over the Haverford High on Tuesday. Led by Mike Bollinger at the net and Devon Rice on the outside, Pennridge overwhelmed the Fords all night. The Rams’ athleticism sets them apart from other teams and allows them to beat bigger opponents. They had both size and athleticism on Haverford, so the visiting team was in trouble from the opening point.

“The guys came out and executed, which is what we like to see,” Pennridge coach Dave Childs said. “It went well.”
