SOFTBALL: North Penn falls to Neshaminy

The North Penn softball team has done a lot of good things this season, including putting together a winning streak at the end of the year to qualify for District One Class AAAA playoffs and making it into the PIAA playoffs for the second straight year.

But there is one thing that the Maidens finally couldn’t do.

“We just wanted to defend our title,” North Penn coach Rick Torresani said, “and we won’t get that chance now.”

The Maidens ran into a hot pitcher in Neshaminy’s Lauren Quense, who held the Maidens to two hits in pitching the Redskins to a 2-0 victory at William Tennent High School Wednesday. Neshaminy will play the winner of the other semifinal, either Pennsbury or Central Bucks East. That semifinal will be played today.
