BASEBALL: Holy Ghost Prep blanks Upper Moreland for title

Montgomery Media / BOB RAINES Upper Moreland second baseman Nick Corbett moves over to cover first to force Holy Ghost Prep's Bobby Reading on a sacrifice bunt.
In the bottom half of the third inning, Upper Moreland’s Eddie Decker ripped a double to center field. Unfortunately, for the Bears, it would be the closest they would get to scoring all day.

Holy Ghost Prep pitcher Tim Brennan tossed a two-hitter while shutting out the Bears as the Firebirds defeated Upper Moreland, 6-0, in the District One Class AAA championship game at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth Township on Wednesday afternoon.

For the second consecutive year, Upper Moreland (18-4) was knocked out in the district title game after being crowned champions in 2011, and this time hurt just as badly as last year for Decker and the Bears.
