BASEBALL: Springfield falls short against Penn Charter

It’s not too often that a non-league regular season game has a high-energy playoff feel, but Friday’s game between Penn Charter and Springfield had just that.

It was beautiful sunny afternoon and crowds for both teams showed up, there was large crowd due to a suicide awareness day that both teams agreed hold due to a tragic loss in the family of a Penn Charter player.

The way the game played out between the lines was worthy of the crowd that gathered as Penn Charter put up a three spot in the first and last inning to beat Springfield 6-2.
