Heading into last week’s Pioneer Athletic Conference softball playoffs, Owen J. Roberts looked like the team to beat, as well as a squad peaking at the right time.
Over a span of eight days, though, the Wildcats saw their hopes of a fruitful postseason dashed by a couple of uncharacteristic losses.
Pennridge pitcher Paige DeCew shut down the normally potent Owen J. Roberts offense Wednesday afternoon as the visiting Rams dealt the Wildcats a 3-0 defeat in a District One Class AAAA second round game.
