SOFTBALL: Lewis lifts Pioneers over Springfield
Christopher Dock saw its five-run lead slowly slip away in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday against Springfield, but it didn’t take long for the Pioneers to get the one run they needed in the bottom half.
Pitcher Lauren Weidler led off with a sharply-hit single up the middle. Sarah Ryder’s groundout moved Weidler over to second and a wild pitch moved her over to third.
Emma Lewis then stepped to the plate with a chance to win it for Dock.
