GIRLS LACROSSE: Garnet Valley pulls away from Souderton

By keeping possession as long as possible and limiting its turnovers, the Souderton Area girls lacrosse team stayed in contention with Garnet Valley throughout the first 25 minutes of play on Tuesday.

But then the Jaguars displayed the kind of offense that helped power them to a state title in each of the past two seasons. Garnet Valley outscored Souderton 11-1 in a dominant second half to pull away to a 23-8 victory in a District One Class AAA first round playoff game.

The win advances the ninth-seeded Jaguars (15-4) to a second-round game at No. 8 Hatboro-Horsham on Thursday. No. 24 Souderton finished its season 9-9.
