SOFTBALL: Labs lifts Pennridge past Conestoga

For Montgomery Media / SUSAN KEEN Pennridge's Brooke Labs is mobbed after knocking in the winning run during Monday's District One Class AAAA playoff game against Conestoga.
A good team can win when it is at its best and when it struggles. Pennridge had trouble at the plate in its opening round game against Conestoga, but showed up in the bottom of the seventh to survive and advance.

Although Conestoga pitcher Callie Wang was throwing a great game, it was a two-run final at-bat that gave the Lady Rams as 2-1 win and a spot in the second round of the District One Class AAAA playoffs. The game was a pitcher’s duel for the most part, but it took Pennridge until the death to put runs on the board. However, that was enough for starter Paige DeCew, whose only blemish was a fourth inning home run.
