VOLLEYBALL: North Penn battles past Upper Dublin

For Montgomery Media / RICK KAUFFMAN North Penn's Rajiv Sambharya spikes over Upper Dublin setter Jake Komins during Monday's action.
One could just evaluate the Xs and Os of two vastly different volleyball programs and offer a thorough analysis of a game. One would expect the North Penn Knights, who are historically tops in their division, would defeat a team like Upper Dublin, which has never been known as a powerhouse. Times change, however, and pave the way for a new era of competitive play.

Upper Dublin fell at home Monday to North Penn, 3-1, but showed signs of new life and new discipline.

“I’m working with a program that hasn’t been known for really good volleyball,” said first year Upper Dublin coach Brendan Ledwith. “Basically, we’re just trying to get our guys to play better volleyball, be more competitive with teams in the upper tier of the conference and the district.”
