BASEBALL: Souderton topples Central Bucks West

There was no harm done as the ball dropped between a trio of Central Bucks West fielders, though it was a ball that should have been caught by someone. Souderton, however, savored the extra out and piled on in the Suburban One Continental Conference baseball game three batters later, as Brett Hale’s bases-clearing double pushed the Indians’ output toward the eventual 10-4 victory.

“When we did not catch that pop-up behind third base the whole game changed,” Bucks coach Jim Ertel said. “That put the game out of reach.”

Hale and the Indians exploded for 12 hits, with each player in the starting lineup recording at least one hit and scoring one run. Kyle Wenger delivered a clutch two-run triple in the third inning to put the Indians in front 3-2 and they never looked back. Brad Stoltzfus and Dan O’Hara each had a pair of hits in the win.
