SOFTBALL: Allebach, Souderton out-duel DeCew, Pennridge

For Montgomery Media / GEOFF PATTON Souderton's Salina Allebach steps to the plate with a pitch during Monday's Suburban One Continental Conference game against Pennridge.
Here is something that you don’t often see in high school softball.

At least you don’t see it often until you get deep into the district or state playoffs.

A pitchers’ duel. That’s when two pitchers dominate the opposing team, yielding nothing, until one finally gives up a run or two and the game is decided.
Souderton’s Salina Allebach and Pennridge’s Paige DeCew hooked up in one on Monday afternoon. Allebach came out the winner when the Indians touched DeCew for two runs in the sixth inning and a 2-0 victory.
