SOFTBALL: Wissahickon rallies past Cheltenham

Softball teams from around the Suburban One American Conference are finding out that it is very difficult to deliver a knockout blow when playing against Wissahickon.

And, they are finding out that if they don’t put the Trojans away if they have the opportunity, then chances are good they’re going to lose the game eventually.

On Thursday afternoon, Cheltenham moved ahead by three runs in the second but didn’t build on it. And, that allowed Wissahickon to come back and knot the score in the fourth.

In the fifth inning, the visiting Panthers had two runs in and runners on second and third. But, instead of slamming the door on the Trojans, they left both runners on base — and they paid the price. Wissahickon rallied with four runs in the sixth and emerged with an exciting 8-6 victory.
