BASEBALL: McGlade, Cheltenham battle past Wissahickon
Entering the game with a team ERA of only 1.17, one would think that Wissahickon would have more than two wins in its first four games. But as has been the case in the opening few weeks of the season, the hitting has just not been there for the Trojans.
Thanks in large part to an exceptional performance by Cheltenham right-hander Jack McGlade, this was the case again on Thursday, as Wissahickon’s offense was unable to get anything going.
McGlade, in his first year as a varsity pitcher, tossed 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball to help the Panthers earn a 4-1 victory over the Trojans in a Suburban One American Conference game at Cheltenham High School.
