SOFTBALL: St. Basil takes advantage of Mount mistakes for win

No team can come into a game expected to be spotted its first five runs on just two infield singles, but it’s nice when it does happen. St. Basil happened to be that lucky team against Mount St. Joseph.

Although St. Basil did not swing the bats particularly well, it manufactured runs and got hits when it needed to en route to an 11-2 win over Mount St. Joseph. The Panthers took advantage of eight walks and numerous defensive lapses, but also got a great pitching performance from freshman Kiera Peters to take control early and never looked back.
