COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Rhule excited about Temple recruiting class

PHILADELPHIA — With Matt Rhule coming on as head coach at Temple in mid-December, following Steve Addazio’s departure to Boston College, there was little time to do anything but hit the recruiting trail.

A key for Rhule while on the circuit was to keep the kids that committed prior to the coaching change. Often, that is no easy task. However, with the help of holdover assistants such as Ed Foley, Tyree Foreman and Francis Brown, Rhule was able to accomplish that.

“We’re grateful to the student athletes who were recruited and committed under Steve and his staff and made the decision to stay with us,” said Rhule at his signing day press conference Wednesday. “At the end of the day that really speaks to Temple. They made the decision to come to school here and they committed to this university.”

The class comprises of 23 players, including 10 from Pennsylvania and 10 from New Jersey. Of those 20, four are Philadelphia-area signees.
