BOYS BASKETBALL: Wilson powers Wissahickon past Upper Moreland

Montgomery Media / BOB RAINES Wissahickon's Chase Wilson drives past Upper Moreland's Damian LaRosa during Monday's Suburban One American Conference action.
Wisshickon coach Kyle Wilson informed his team via text message that they would have a 6:30 a.m. shoot around Monday. About 12 hours later the shoot around continued with opponent Upper Moreland contesting their shots. The lights-out shooting from the Trojans carried them to a 74-64 win over the visiting Golden Bears.

“We didn’t have the gym all weekend because of the snow storm and other functions, the guys were like ‘really coach, 6:30? Can’t we go after school?’ I said I don’t want to take a chance of us not getting a chance to get some shots up,” Wilson said.

The shoot-around paid highest dividends for Wilson’s son, Chase, who netted a game high 37 points. Wilson, however, was not as impressed with his performance as many people leaving the gym were.
