BOYS BASKETBALL: Kohn leads Upper Moreland past Springfield

Montgomery Media / BOB RAINES Upper Moreland's Kevin Mc Fall looks for a way to the basket past Springfield's Billy Dahm during Tuesday's Suburban One American Conference game.
Matt Kohn probably could not have dreamed up a better Senior Night at Upper Moreland. Kohn may have known the crowd, donned in purple and gold, was going to cause a ruckus the entire game. He also could have hoped for a double-digit win. But did he think he was going to drop 32 points on Springfield? No, that was something unexpected.

“It’s special and I will never forget it,” Kohn said of his performance. “But I can’t thank my teammates and the crowd enough for it.”

The Bears took care of business in a big way Tuesday night, downing Springfield 75-56 in a barn burner. Although there was not much solid defense played all night, Kohn, along with teammate Kevin McFall and Springfield’s Billy Dahm and Chris Stone put on an offensive clinic. In the end, however, Upper Moreland kept on scoring while Springfield could not maintain the rapid pace.
