BOYS BASKETBALL: Quick start powers Prep past Wood

Montgomery Media / BOB RAINES Archbishop Wood's Pat Smith spins around St. Joseph's Prep's Kyle Thompson looking for a shot during Wednesday's PCL action.
While fans had trouble finding a seat in an overfilled Archbishop Wood High School gym, the Vikings had trouble getting anything going offensively against St. Joseph’s Prep, one of the top teams in the Philadelphia Catholic League

Despite playing very well over the past two weeks, winning four of its last five PCL games, Wood was overmatched by the Prep, a team with only two league losses on the season.

After a quick start from the Prep, one which saw the Hawks hold a 19-5 advantage after just one quarter of play, the Vikings were unable to recover, eventually losing, 52-37, in a PCL meeting on Wednesday night.
