GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lansdale Catholic eases past Bishop McDevitt

If Bishop McDevitt didn’t appear to be missing its starting point guard, Sierra DaCosta, in the first quarter, the Royal Lancers were certainly missing her for the remainder of the game.

After a surprising first eight minutes saw McDevitt outscore visiting Lansdale Catholic, 20-18, the Crusaders went on a 25-4 run over the course of the next quarter and a half, eventually going up by as many as 20 points.

In the end, the Crusaders’ huge advantage in rebounding, along with its 16-for-17 effort from the free throw line, was enough to give LC a convincing 53-39 win over the Lancers in a Philadelphia Catholic League meeting at Bishop McDevitt on Thursday night.
