SWIMMING: Young Monarchs ease past Villa Joseph Marie
Versatility, determination and some pretty good overall balance kept the Gwynedd Mercy Academy swim team unbeaten on Wednesday, as the Monarchs swam to a 59-36 victory over Villa Joseph Marie at the La Salle College High School Natatorium.
"It’s just a good solid core group of girls," GMA coach Heather Norman said. "We have a lot more depth than we did the last couple years, and I think the team spirit and unity has really stepped it up and they’re encouraging each other. The seniors have taken the lead and said ‘let’s go. Let’s show everybody what we’re made of.’ They’re really good leaders and they pick up anywhere I need them to swim."
