Cheltenham visited Norristown Tuesday night with one plan in mind: attack, attack, attack. However, due to a slow start and shots that rattled the rim, but just wouldn’t drop, Norristown cruised to a 57-40 victory.
In the Suburban One American Conference matchup, top-ranked Cheltenham (6-0) came to Norristown Area High School looking to solidify their presence atop Norristown (5-1) by strength of arms. Norristown’s big men proved to be too much to handle, breaking out to a 14-3 lead after the first.
“We were coming off a tough loss and wanted to come out this game and play with confidence,” said Norristown’s Josh Johnson, who finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks and 3 assists in the game.
