WRESTLING: North Penn rallies past Hatboro-Horsham

For Montgomery Media / MARK C. PSORAS North Penn's Sofiane Bensmail and Hatboro-Horsham's Kevin Mowry go head to head in their 120-pound bout during Wednesday's Suburban One Continental Conference meet.
A late surge is better than no surge at all.

The North Penn wrestling team sat puzzled by its 24-4 disadvantage to Hatboro-Horsham on Wednesday in the Suburban One Continental Conference dual meet.

Possibly starting at 113 pounds favored the Hatters, but it only took 39 seconds by junior Alex Price to bring life back into the Knights. The 182-pounder’s first period pin brought his team within two points and the heavyweights that followed closed out the night in style, to help collect the 41-27 comeback win.

“We knew Hatboro’s stronger kids were at the lighter weights,” senior Matt Robinson said. “We had an idea of where our stronger weights were. I had a tough match (9-4 decision over Brad Humski at 145 pounds), I won, and that kind of set us on a streak.”
