GIRLS BASKETBALL: Gwynedd Mercy shuts down Villa Joseph Marie
It was right around the time that the Gwynedd Mercy Academy’s girls’ basketball played Villa Joseph Marie. The Monarchs’ captains decided to call a team meeting. Sitting with a 1-4 record the seniors wanted to send the message to their younger teammates that they were going to stick together.
Stick together, they have, and with the Jems in their gym on Friday, the Monarchs made it clear how far they have come in a month. Behind a suffocating defensive effort, the Monarchs managed a 55-28 victory.
