BOYS BASKETBALL: AFS can't rally past Friends Central

By Mike Prince
You had to go all the way back to Dec. 7 to a visit to the Haverford School for the last time Abington Friends’ boys’ basketball team lost a game before Tuesday night.

And after winning 15 consecutive games since then, AFS coach Steve Chadwin hopes that a loss to Friends’ Central will be nothing more than a small bump in the road.

After allowing the Phoenix to go up by as many as 18 points early in the second quarter, the Kangaroos were unable to recover, losing 76-64 in a Friends Schools League matchup at Friends’ Central High School in a battle of teams who were tied for first place in the league entering the contest.
