BOYS BASKETBALL: McDevitt falls to mighty Saints

After the eight seniors on the Bishop McDevitt squad were honored and recognized during what was the boys’ basketball team’s Senior Night, the Lancers knew their mindset had to immediately switch to the task at hand, playing one of the biggest powerhouse teams in the state.
Facing Neumann-Goretti, the No. 2-ranked team in PA, the Royal Lancers had their work cut out of them on this given night, and it didn’t take very long before McDevitt was playing from behind.
The Saints opened up an early 12-point lead and cruised to a 78-64 win over the Lancers in a Philadelphia Catholic League meeting at Bishop McDevitt High School on Wednesday night.
