GIRLS BASKETBALL: Plymouth Whitemarsh eases past Cheltenham

For Montgomery Media / ADRIANNA HOFF Plymouth Whitemarsh's Alynna Williams drives past Cheltenham's Sabrina Casseus during Tuesday's Suburban One American Conference game.
After a close first quarter, Plymouth Whitemarsh, led by a swarming defense and stellar bench play, went on to easily handle Cheltenham, 40-13.

“I thought the girls were really active. We got big quality minutes out of our bench players,” said PW coach Dan Dougherty. “We were on a short bench tonight. One of our players, Rachel Konowal wasn’t in the game, so we were limited to begin with. Laurie Givnish got into a little bit of foul trouble, Nikki Casey too.

“(Maudie Orler) and (Cara Sweeney) were able to come in during that foul trouble situation off the bench and give us a lot of energy.”
