SWIMMING: Malvern Prep powers past Germantown Academy

Unlike Manny Pacquiao, who never saw the punch that knocked him cold in his last fight, Germantown Academy swim coach Dick Shoulberg knew what was coming — knew that his team would feel the power of this year’s Malvern Prep team when the Patriots faced the Friars in an Inter-Ac dual meet Thursday afternoon.
And, that’s just what happened in the meet at Malvern’s pool. The Friars got off to a fast start and never let up as they raced to a convincing 129-67 conference win.
“I knew this was coming since the day after Easterns last year when I looked at the results and looked at who was returning,” said Shoulberg. “They’re just a good team and we don’t have any depth. But, I’m not disappointed. We had some good races.”
