GIRLS BASKETBALL: Alden, Chatburn lead William Tennent past Hatboro-Horsham
By Nick Iuele
It’s bad when a team can’t score against the press. It’s even worse when that team’s opponents known it can’t score against the press.
“We ended up getting hurt with our bigs not being in position while facing the press and hopefully we won’t have to deal with that again,” H-H coach Steve Flynn said. “When you’re 10 games in and you have to tell the kids how far to be away from the defender in a zone, that’s not good.”
William Tennent pressed all night and got the desired outcome of a 58-34 win over Hatboro-Horsham. Led by Nikki Alden’s 15 points and a stout defense, the Lady Panthers dominated most of the game by constantly trapping an inexperienced Lady Hatters team and converting turnovers into points.
