BOYS LACROSSE: Upper Dublin battles past Bishop Shanahan

Even with a high seed and a first round bye, the Upper Dublin boys lacrosse team didn’t exactly come into the District One Class AAAA tournament with the most post-season experience. However, the Cardinals did prove that they are worthy of a four seed and their ability to win a gritty game. This is something than could prove invaluable going forward.

The Cardinals were handed a stiff challenge by Bishop Shanahan, but came out on top 8-6 to advance to the third round. Led by a strong defense effort, specifically by goalkeeper Jack Deragon, and a hat trick by Ben Winebreak, Upper Dublin fought off a steady and resilient Eagles attack and got a big win in front of a big crowd.
