BASEBALL: Lee, Phillies blank Marlins
MIAMI — Cliff Lee reeled in a nice-sized tarpon earlier in the week on the waters off Miami.
“Caught a couple,” Lee said. “Some nice ones.”
After struggling with the line in the first inning Wednesday night, Lee untangled himself from trouble and hooked himself up with his first shutout in 21 months.
There were some strange moments embedded in the Phillies’ 3-0 win over the Marlins Wednesday night, a victory than put the Phils (23-24) within a game of the .500 level since they were 6-7 April 15.
